32nd Meeting of the PCC SEE Expert Working Group
Online, 4 June 2024 - The PCC SEE Expert Working Group, one of the statutory decision-making bodies in the PCC SEE, convened for the 32nd time under the auspices of the Slovenian PCC SEE Chairmanship-in-Office. Nationally appointed delegations from all 12 PCC SEE Contracting Parties discussed the most recent developments pertaining to the PCC SEE and PCC Prüm implementation processes, reviewing the current progress in ratifying the Protocol amending the PCC SEE Prüm Agreement as well as new developments in the non-EU Contracting Parties as regards their fulfilment of key preconditions for automated exchange of DNA, dactyloscopic and vehicle registration data. The EWG also endorsed the text of the updated PCC Prüm User Manual on Evaluation and Expert Meetings, as well as a supplementary document detailing the evaluation procedure for automated exchange of DNA data, to be further submitted for official adoption under written (silent procedure). Moreover, the EWG dicussed the ongoing efforts to identify and reach a mutually acceptable solution to safeguard the existing cooperation among the current Contracting Parties.
