10th Meeting of the Committee of Ministers


The tenth meeting of the Committee of Ministers, convened under the auspices of the Austrian Chairmanship in Office, took place on 18 October 2013 in Bucharest, Romania. Ministers responsible for home affairs and other high officials from the Contracting Parties to the Police Cooperation Convention for Southeast Europe gathered with the aim to discuss the progress in the implementation process of the PCC SEE and ways to increase cross-border police cooperation amongst their countries.

The discussions and presentations mainly focused on the importance of the practical implementation of the PCC SEE provisions and intensification of operational cooperation. Furthermore, the Ministers adopted the decision to establish a Trio PCC SEE Chairmanship, replacing the existing rotating 6-month chairmanship, as well as the decision that the Republic of Serbia fulfils the preconditions arising from the PCC SEE in the area of data protection. The establishment of the first Trio PCC SEE Chairmanship, to be held by Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Republic of Bulgaria and Hungary, will start as of 1st January 2014.

In addition, Hungary signed the Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation and Support regarding the PCC SEE Secretariat and the Republic of Albania signed the Annex on the Amendment of the said Memorandum.
