The EU Member States and the European Commission warmly welcomed the PCC SEE contribution to improving regional cooperation. The Commission urged all Member States to accede to the Convention which, in their opinion, represents an efficient legal basis for cooperation.

The Commission announced that it would also look into funding possibilities.

Hungary announced its imminent accession to the Convention which is to take place in January 2012.

On 9th December, Mr. Travner participated in a meeting with Mrs. Maria Asenius, Head of Cabinet of EU Commissioner for Home Affairs, where future options for cooperation were discussed.
