9th Meeting of the Committee of Ministers


The 9th Meeting of the Committee of Ministers, convened under the auspices of the Albanian Chairmanship-in-Office and with support from the PCC SEE Secretariat, took place on 21 May 2013 in Brdo pri Kranju, Slovenia. In attendance were Ministers responsible for home affairs and authorised representatives from the Contracting Parties. CEPOL, RCC and DCAF were among the observers.
The participants were acquainted with the priorities of the current Albanian and upcoming Austrian chairmanship of the PCC SEE and were presented with a report from the Expert Working Group. CEPOL reiterated its commitment to further enhance cooperation with countries of the Western Balkan region and DCAF presented the Swiss Regional Police Cooperation Programme in the Western Balkans 2012-2016. The Committee of Ministers endorsed the project “Support to the Implementation of the PCC SEE”, which was submitted to the mentioned programme, and acknowledged the outstanding contribution of the Swiss Government to the intensification of law enforcement cooperation in the region. The Ministers and authorised representatives of the Contracting Parties engaged in a tour de table discussion about priority areas as regards operational cooperation and their expectations for the implementation process of the PCC SEE for the next three years. Montenegro, Romania and DCAF signed the Annex on the Amendment of the Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation and Support regarding the PCC SEE Secretariat, which prolongs the annual contribution of the Contracting Parties to an indefinite period.
